Constipation is a symptom not a disease. When we talk about constipation, it is not only that the child has stools few times a week, but must be seen in the context of whether the child has problems with abdominal pain, bloated, unwell, poor appetite and was tired.

Afføringen are often settled with large tubers or a lot of small balls as goat or fåremøg. Afføringen can change in consistency and also be thin and strong smelling. That having stools can be very painful for the child.

The vicious circle - to keep the stools back

Afførings incontinence is most often a result of constipation and may show itself as "skidmarks" in underbukserne, klatter of stools or liquid, smelly stools.

For one reason or another, have the child been forstoppet and has had problems with the hard and painful stools, possibly munity legislation by endetarmen.

The child will start to keep the stools back to avoid the discomfort and pain. This starts a vicious circle, and forstoppelsen will continue and get worse.

When the stools are held back, pushed it back in the gut, and afføringstrangen disappear. It can cause a great afføringsophobning in Rectum and further up in the large intestine. Endetarmen extended and overstrækkes. Endetarmen loses its sense, and the child will find it more difficult to keep on stools and distinguish between stools and a wind.

Afføringen is further up the intestine can run over the accumulated stools and running out himself, without the child notes it or is able to keep it back. The thin stools can be misinterpreted as diarrhoea, but called overløbs-diarrhoea, and is due to the large intestine's harder to absorb water because of the accumulated stools in endetarmen.
